The Heritage Rhode Island Red is another dual-purpose bird that is offered here at our farm. These birds possess gorgeous dark red mahogany feathers and a docile temperament. The Heritage Rhode Island Reds are among some of the most resilient birds offered since they thrive in all climate conditions and maintain a steady egg production year-round. Please do not confuse these heritage birds with the Production Rhode Island Reds (Production Reds). The Heritage Rhode Island Reds will not lay as many eggs as the commercialized lines but will be darker feathered, have larger bodies, live longer, and will have a more docile temperament than their commercialize friends.
